If you’re looking for someone who is passionate about math and loves sharing that interest with students, then you’ve come to the right place!
I often hear kids say, “I’m not good at math.” I believe that everyone can be good at math, they just haven’t been taught in ways that work for them.
Specialties include:
- working with neurodivergent children and queer youth
- using students’ strengths to facilitate math proficiency
- developing confidence with and enjoyment of math
I help kids understand the math they’re learning in school and help them reach further by leveraging their own ideas and curiosities. By giving them the opportunity to follow their own interests, they expand their reasoning skills and their belief in themselves, which in turn helps them develop math competency.
So rarely in school do students get to really explore math or feel like they’re figuring things out themselves. With me, students will investigate math in ways that are fun and meaningful to them – they will see how various fields connect, delve into their interest areas, and use misunderstandings as opportunities to explore other possibilities.
